Rumble Wrestling Promotions' unprecedented return year to The Woodville in Gravesend Kent has been one to remember, but the local promotion's latest show at the iconic venue might just be a Show of The Year contender.... for any promotion in the UK.
Tate Mayfairs and Nino Bryant's epic year long feud finally came to a head inside a monstrous 16 foot Steel Cage. The winner crowned the Rumble All Nations Champion, a title Tate has held in the highest regard, albeit controversial at times. The loser? Banned from competing at The Woodville for 6 months.
What happened? A back and forth contest that many of the 500+ fans would likely consider Match of the Year, not only for Rumble Wrestling Promotions, but for any promotion within the UK. The two wrestlers pulled out all the the stops with neither wanting to lose to the other. Never before seen moves inside a Rumble Ring, namely the dreaded Pepsi Plunge made famous by the one and only CM Punk. To top it all, both wrestlers attempted a high risk high reward dive off the top of the steel cage structure.
However, a match involving Tate Mayfairs defending his All Nations Championship is almost certainly filled with some sort of controversy. Manager Shenwoo aided Mayfairs at every opportunity; using a steel chair to prevent the High Flying Bryant Brother from escaping the cage and even using a foreign substance to temporarily blind Nino. All legal in a Steel Cage Match.
As the match went on Shenwoo's influence grew, much to the dismay of the Gravesend crowd. This wouldn't last though. Nino's brothers Leland and Zander, had seen enough. Surrounding Shenwoo before hitting him with super kicks in stereo fashion. Finally hitting a double super kick to remove Shenwoo from the equation.
With that it was truly One on One. The All Nations Champion vs The Mal Mason British Lightweight Champion. After some further hard hitting action, Nino scaled the cage and over the top escaping the structure to secure his victory. Not just winning the match, not just becoming a double champion in Rumble Wrestling for the first time, but finally gaining that much needed, and ultimately deserved, victory over Tate Mayfairs.
The show was filled from top to bottom. Opening with a contest between the outspoken flag waving American Mr USA and The Hot Property Danny Isit. After an eventful contest. Mr USA came out the victor after using some underhand tactics.
Rumble Wrestling prides itself on providing some of the very best wrestling the UK has to offer, while also providing a pathway for those newer wrestlers getting their reps in. This was never more the case than the second match on the bill. A showcase of British technical wrestling mixed with the the modern hard hitting strikes exhibited by Craig Callaghan and Charley Marley. The unrelenting battle between the two unfortunately ending in a double knock out following a clash of heads. However, I'm sure Rumble fans can't wait to see more of what these 2 young wrestlers bring to the table.

It was Tag Team time to close out the first half of the show. The South London Syndicate, consisting of Tyler Walker and Hakan, bring the pride and power of Peckham to Rumble. They faced fan favourites and a Championship duo in the Rumble Wrestling Champion Sid Manelli and the European Champion Tommy Tanner. The crowd were firmly being the Heart and Soul of Rumble Wrestler and the Ultimate Geezer.
